Students will sit internal exams in most subjects. These may be supervised classroom tests, or more formal external exams. The information gained from these assessments is used by staff to provide a better education for the students.

Students will be issued with exam entry sheets before all external exams. It is very important that the details are checked carefully. The entry sheets show which paper and which tier a student is entered for as well as the date and time of the exam. Exam information can be obtained directly from the exam boards, accessible from the links below or by contacting the school.

Details about forthcoming examinations and controlled assessments can be found below along with several exam documents which we would like to draw your son/daughter’s attention to for the coming academic year as a reminder of the regulations governing exams. This is especially necessary for the Summer exams, as for most of the students it is the final opportunity for them to sit the GCSE in a subject and it is important that they are able to achieve the best they can.

Remember, the exam boards will apply sanctions if the regulations are not adhered to. In extreme cases this can involve being disqualified from taking exams in a subject.

As The Hub is a fully registered exam centre, students can sit their exams in familiar surroundings. We are registered with all the main examination boards and offer GCSEs, functional skills and entry level certificates.

The starting times for all GCSEs are 9.30am for morning exams and 1.00 pm for afternoon exams. Students are required to register 30 minutes prior to the start time. This will help them to settle in.
A range of revision resources are available on the website under the relevant subjects nearer the time.
