Laughter, Serotonin and Dopamine

On Monday 21st January, Ren Rockwood, our Primary Mental Health Worker from the Brighton and Hove School’s Well-being Service, ran an extremely useful session on Mental Health and teenagers. A good number of parents as well as teachers (who are parents) enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere as one of the City’s leading Health Workers helped us to understand how the teenage brain works. It was fascinating to learn how the burst of dopamine that adolescents experience effects the way that they think and feel. Many parents asked questions and shared personal experiences and said how informative and insightful the session had been.

One parent said that after the session, “Things now really make sense.”
