Dear Parents and Carers

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
Our next Parents/Carers information evening is taking place next week, on Tuesday 14th January 2020. This is an evening for you to meet with the Subject Teachers and we really encourage you to come along and hear how your child is doing, given we are now in the spring term and Mocks and GCSE exams are not far away.
Our subject teachers are:

Abi Dearling – Science (Chemistry and Biology)

Viv Papier – English/Child Care

Guy Williams – English and Maths

Jo Edge – Maths

Julie Melia – Food and Nutrition

Clare Connelly – Art

I will be here,  as will Lucie Broadbent-Smith (our safeguarding lead) and Cordelia Millington (our careers advisor), so if you would also like to chat about any other aspect of your child’s education at The Connected Hub, including advice and guidance on supporting your child with exams preparation, do come and find one of us.

Appointments to meet with your child’s subject teachers are now being taken and are available between 4pm and 6pm but, if you need to come later because of work commitments, we will try and accommodate you, up to 7pm. To make appointments, please call Caolan on Reception (01273 291294) and he will book these in for you.  Alternatively, you can email him:  caolanfitzsimons@chb.org.uk

If you have to wait in between appointments with different teachers, please do take the opportunity to have a look at our displays of the students’ activities during our final week of term, leading up to Christmas.  It was a very positive week and the students as you know, participated in a wide range of informative and exciting activities, which concluded with a Christmas lunch on the last day of term.

One of the activities was to create a Connected Hub Cook Book. Copies will be available for you to look at and we will be taking orders for these during the evening.  All money raised will go to our ‘Connected Friends’ fund, which is used to support the funding of the many activities we organise for the students to take part in, throughout the year.

I hope to see as many of you as possible next Tuesday evening.
Amanda
