The Connected Hub is a small and nurturing alternative provision for Year 11 students from across the city who are at risk of becoming NEET.  Our aim is to enable young people to meet their learning and personal goals so they can engage in education, training and employment and reach their full potential.

We are looking to appoint a Transition and WRL Co-ordinator to support students in their work related learning (including work experience and 14-16 college courses) and transition to college, apprenticeships, work with training or other post 16 provision.

The post-holder will build relationships with students and their families as a key member of the team.  They will liaise with universities, the LA and various other agencies.

  • To work with staff to ensure all students complete application forms for college, apprenticeships, work experience etc.
  • To liaise with families about college open days and interviews
  • To prepare students for their interviews and accompany students to interview if required
  • To be responsible for Work Experience including attending coordinators meetings, paperwork, finding placements, supporting students to attend interviews and placements, placement visits etc.
  • To establish transition activities in the summer term
  • To liaise with students and families during the summer holidays to ensure they are prepared for transition to college
  • In September, support students to start their college placements and monitor these throughout the year
  • Liaise with YES and colleges / work placements to support any student who is at risk of becoming NEET and help put alternative provision in place
  • To attend staff meetings, parent/carer consultations and multi-agency meetings as required to meet the needs of the young people
  • To liaise with parents/carers when appropriate
