Teacher of Maths and one other subject

Salary:  Teachers Main Scale/Upper Pay Scale
Required from 1st September 2018
Full Time Permanent

The Connected Hub is a unit for 34 Year 11 students from across the City.   Our aim is to enable young people to meet their learning and personal goals so they can engage in education, training and employment and reach their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced KS2, 3 or 4 teacher who can use their skills to teach Year 11 students who have missed much of their basic education, in particular Maths.  This teacher must be committed to helping students to remove barriers and re-engage with learning.  We have a different approach to learning which includes teaching in small groups, vocational learning, mentoring, and enrichment activities.   We have high expectations of, and aspirations for, our students.

The successful applicant will:

  • be experienced in teaching maths
  • be willing to offer an option subject at GCSE level
  • be experienced in working with disengaged/vulnerable young people or children
  • be innovative and creative practitioners
  • be able to communicate high expectations within a ‘can-do’ culture
  • be committed to raising standards
  • be flexible, adaptable and pro-active

Applicants are warmly welcomed and strongly recommended to visit the Hub prior to application.  Please contact Tracey Robinson to arrange a visit.
